Our Kuno newspaper basket is made for you by family business artisans specialized in rattan. The elegantly curved, sun-bleached rattan fibers make it the ideal complement for homes in light tones, for example in the Japandi style.

With a width of 40 cm and a height of 26 cm, the two compartments have the ideal dimensions for daily newspapers and magazines. This practical helper fits particularly well in the living room next to the sofa - or in any other place where you enjoy your newspaper.

Material: Rattan

Our newspaper baskets are made from plant fibres. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and drawing many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow back quickly without any chemical additives, have to be cut off regularly and can then be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable material that is available in abundance.

This newspaper basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
