Liku is made by a small family business specializing in rattan with the idea of bringing lightness and a good atmosphere into your home. The modern and simple design of vertical black rattan fibres shades the light in a soothing striped pattern.

A metal frame defines the round shape of the lampshade and strengthens the material so that it is relatively robust and can withstand several moves without any problems.

Liku is available in two sizes and is delivered without a cable, but you can purchase it in your preferred length and color in every hardware store. A lightbulb is also not included in the scope of delivery.

Main material: Rattan

Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and drawing many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow back quickly without any chemical additives, must be cut off regularly and can then be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundantly available material.

This lampshade is handmade in Bali, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
