Main material: Seagrass
Our placemats are made from plant fibres. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.
Our placemats are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell wonderfully of nature and they also feel like it.
What basket-makers usually refer to as “seaweed” is actually not an (under)water plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves of the plants, which are often cultivated by humans, are removed, cut into strips, dried and then further processed by hand.
Other material: Cotton

Production site:
This placemat is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. Only adult and experienced artisans work in the companies from which we purchase our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
