Alam is a fish trap-shaped rattan lampshade. It is the result of generations of craftsmanship and enhances your home with its natural appearance and clean lines. The inside of the lampshade is also equipped with rattan struts, giving it a 3D look. The light is thus cast onto the wall in a fascinating geometric shadow pattern.

The rattan lamp is available in two sizes, so there is the right one for every room. A stable metal frame ensures that it retains its uniformly round shape over the long term.

Alam is delivered without bulbs and cables. However, these are available in your preferred colour and length at any DIY store.

Main material: Rattan

Our lampshades are made from plant fibres. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and drawing many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow back quickly without any chemical additives, must be cut off regularly and can then be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundantly available material.

This lampshade is handmade in Bali, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
