For the Kolaka stool, thick rattan fibres, which can only be processed with a lot of time and skill, are brought into a curved, timeless shape with three legs. This makes it stable on any surface and makes it look good in any living environment.

As a piece of furniture made of natural rattan, the stool is incredibly light, making it easy to move around and thus use in different rooms. Despite the fine material, the seating surface made of thin, artfully woven rattan fibres is very robust and extremely durable even with frequent use.

Main material: Rattan

Our stools are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and drawing many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow back quickly without any chemical additives, must be cut off regularly and can then be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundantly available material.

When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
