Nirama is made of high-quality seagrass that is artfully woven crosswise. With this playful look, the small rug is a real eye-catcher in your home. We attach great importance to natural materials, which is why the raw material is only dried and processed without further treatment.

It is perfect as a stylish rug in the hallway or as a decorative element in the bathroom. It lends an airy atmosphere to any room and ensures a loosened-up room climate. Nirama also feels particularly cosy next to the bed, where it acts as a pleasant foot caress. Every morning, your feet will be awakened by the rough texture of the sea grass – a real treat for the senses!

The coarse weave of the sea grass also allows it to be used as a doormat. Thanks to its moisture-resistant properties, Nirama can be easily wet-cleaned and thus always remains hygienic in this role.

Material: Seagrass

Our rugs are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

What the basket makers usually refer to as “seagrass” is actually not an (under) water plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves of the plants, which are often cultivated by humans, are separated, cut into strips, dried and then processed by hand.

This rug is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
