You would like to make your walls more beautiful, but in a rather unusual way? Our round Hutan wall art made from banana fiber and contrasting white cotton is just the right accessory to do that.

The plate-shaped wall basket is decorated with a modern pattern of clean lines, which goes well with simple homes furnished in a Nordic style, for example. Hutan has a hook on the back for easy hanging. All you need is a nail in the wall. The wall decoration is available in two different sizes, so there is definitely the right variant for your home.

Main material: Banana fibre

Our wall decors are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

Banana fibres are the fibres of the layered trunks of agriculturally used banana trees. The intense brown color occurs naturally when the fibres are dried under the sun for about a week. Then the individual strips are rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This enables these crops to have a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handcrafted baskets here at Soeji.

This wall decor is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. Only adult and experienced artisans work in the companies from which we purchase our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
