Vases made of woven natural materials, such as our large Sakra vase, shine not only as a decorative element but also as a practical furnishing item. They are the perfect counterpart for dried flowers or palm fronds, but with a matching, waterproof inner vessel, green plants can also find their place here.

Sakra is characterised by its special weave: Sturdy, thick strands of untreated brown banana fibre are connected with a hand-knotted net of fine raffia fibres and formed into a bulbous vase shape. The planter gives your living space a natural and charming touch and creates an incomparable ambience. Main material: Banana Fibre

Our vases are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

Banana fibres are the fibres of the layered trunks of agriculturally used banana trees. The intense brown color occurs naturally when the fibres are dried under the sun for about a week. Then the individual strips are rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This enables these crops to have a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handcrafted baskets here at Soeji.

This vase is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. Only adult and experienced artisans work in the companies from which we purchase our goods. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
